Description The mains monitor SIMON-3121 is a programmable measuring recording instrument. It is designed for measuring and recording of voltages, currents, power factors, frequencies, and possibly also temperatures, in low-voltage supply mains. The voltages measured are connected to the monitor using the supplied cables through which the monitor gets supply power as well (through the U1 voltage input). Current transformers are provided for current measurements. Two four-pin connectors allow four-wire connection of two Pt100 resistance thermometers. Maximum measuring configuration consists of three voltages, twelve currents, nine power factors, one frequency, and one temperature. When setting up the configuration it is possible to choose from among and combine the quantities mentioned and to select recording of maximum, minimum, or average value of the given quantity in a measuring period which is selectable in an interval from 5 seconds to 60 minutes as desirable. The quantities selected are measured after being connected to the monitored mains and recorded into the monitor memory of 60 kB, 240 kB (option SIMON-3121/X), or 960 kB (option SIMON-3121/X2) capacity. This capacity is sufficient for recording about a week's information at the maximum configuration mentioned and recording interval 10, 3 or 1 minute respectively. After filling the recording capacity up monitoring is terminated and the monitor indicates this condition using a LED, or recording of values continues and memory works as a “flow memory”. The monitor is equipped with a real-time circuit which is, as well as the memory, backed up with a built-in battery ensuring the data is kept for an 8-year period. It is possible to set up measuring configuration, recording interval, and measured data logging, over standard serial link, RS-232, using a PC-class computer or a PSION pocket computer (organizer), possibly a laptop/notebook-size PC. Following software is supplied for such purposes: Software CETIS32 CETIS is a piece of software to run on Microsoft Windows and allows to set up all important parameters of an SIMON instrument and to archive such settings. It further allows recording, visualisation and archiving of measurements provided by an instrument. Optional extensions : - .../X memory extended to 240 kB
- .../X2 memory extended to 960 kB
